MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Lakefront Brewery's iconic cheese curds were replaced with diamonds as dozens of couples came in to either tie the knot or renew their vows.

This is the ninth year the eatery has offered its unique celebrations, featuring bouquets and boutonnieres made from local businesses, professional photography, live music, free pours, and more -- all inside their "Lakefront Chapel."

And while some choose a church or a courthouse, for one Milwaukee couple, becoming "beer-ly beloveds" at the brewery was a no-brainer.

“I saw it come up just a few weeks ago, and we’d been talking about getting married at some point this year," said Krystal Livingston. "This. I just thought. took a lot of pressure off deciding where the venue is, who the officiant is, the flowers and everything.”

Livingston first met her partner, Alisa Streets, in the summer of 2018 thanks to a dating app.

"We went to one of her favorite bars, Art Bar, and just had a drink and looked at the art that was there that night," Livingston told CBS 58's Ellie Nakamoto-White. "She never said her name though! She never introduced herself!"

Regardless, that first date lasted about four hours.

It wouldn't be until around the sixth, that Livingston finally learned how to say Alisa's name.

"I walked in to meet her, and I guess I tossed my keys on the table and was just like, 'hey!'" Streets said laughingly. "It was a great summer. We just really enjoyed spending time together, and just never wanted to stop."

Little did they know, nearly six years later they'd be back to officially get hitched where they had one of their first dates.

“[It's] just a great place, we like the beer here, we’ve been here many times before," Livingston told CBS 58's Ellie Nakamoto-White. 'It was one of our first dates, so I thought it was a great place to actually come back to.”

Surrounded by friends and family, the two were married by legendary drag queen Ester Flonase.

"Now we're starting a new adventure together," Streets said. “It’s definitely a moment and a period of time that I will take with me forever.”
