Downtown West Bend Celebrates Small Business Saturday

WEST BEND - Black Friday is for the big box stores. Saturday was all about the small businesses!

We were in West Bend as folks went from store to store around the downtown area, hunting for some good deals from local businesses. What's more important is that the money that was spent yesterday...and any day really...went back into the community.

"We have over 15 shops that are part of our locally-owned "DIVA" shops. And so we all love it. People come out, they shop downtown, they eat at the restaurants downtown down here and it's all locally owned."

Another store owner we talked to said 62 cents of every dollar spent at his store stays local. American Express created "Small Business Saturday." The first one was on November 27th, 2010.
