Downed power lines litter Kenosha County after heavy storms hit area

PARIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha County took one of the hardest hits from Thursday's storms with reports of a tornado on the ground in the area. 

CBS 58 has been driving all across Kenosha County, and in Paris, the worst of the damage could be seen along County Road D and E. 

Several downed power lines with poles and wires were scattered across the road along with a downed tree, in result of the heavy wind and rain.

Photos and videos taken by viewers show large cloud formations over Kenosha County.

"We knew why the lights went out in the house, but I mean it just...well we seen the electric poles down and then all of a sudden we see all our trees snap off, luckily it never hit a building," Kenosha County farmer Dennis Wade told CBS 58. 

Residents across the area took shelter, as sirens were activated for a tornado warning. Large bolts of lightning lit up the sky for several hours. 

Kenosha County Sheriff's deputies say that most of the damage is east of the interstate.
