Domestic Violence Survivor Focuses on Helping Others
10 years ago today, a woman was beaten and left for dead inside a trash can.
She survived and is now helping others by being a voice for others who have faced or are still facing the same threat.
Teri Jendusa-Nikolai was beaten with a baseball bat, put in a trash can and moved to a storage. She was in the trash can for 26 hours before police found her.
The healing process for Jendusa-Nikolai has always involved helping others
She speaks before lawmakers sharing her story to encourage bills pass that help prevent domestic violence and help the victims.
