Dodge County officials: 3 dead in head-on crash in Beaver Dam

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Dodge County officials report a third victim has died following a crash in Beaver Dam on Saturday, Aug. 7. 

Authorities say it happened on US 151, north of County Highway B around 2 p.m. 

Officials say a Mazda was traveling north on US 151 and collided with a Mazda traveling southbound. 

The driver of the Mazda, identified as 87-year-old Frederick Schultz of Columbus, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver and passenger of the Kia also died from their injuries. The driver, identified as 68-year-old Richard Wagner from Saint Joseph, Illinois, was transported UW Hospital in Madison where he died a short time later. His passenger, identified as 53-year-old Melissa Rees of Terre Haute, Indiana, died while being transported to treatment at UW Hospital. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner's Office.

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed two people on Saturday, August 7, in the Township of Beaver Dam.

Authorities say the crash occurred at approximately 2:03 p.m. Saturday.

According to the initial investigation, a Kia was traveling south on US 151 in the left/inside traffic lane and a Mazda was traveling north on US 151, traveling the wrong way in the southbound traffic lane, resulting in the collision.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says the driver (sole occupant) of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.

DCSO says the driver of the Kia was transported to UW Hospital in Madison with life threatening injuries.

Officials report that the sole passenger in the Kia died while being transported to UW Hospital in Madison.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
