Dodge County sheriff: Woman pronounced dead after crash in Township of Emmet

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A woman is dead following a crash in the Township of Emmet, in Dodge County, on Tuesday, Aug. 9. 

Around 5:19 p.m., authorities were called to the northbound off-ramp of State Highway 26 to eastbound travel onto State Highway 16. 

An initial investigation showed a 2016 Toyota was traveling north on the State Highway 26 off-ramp to eastbound travel of State Highway 16, but the Toyota failed to negotiate the curve. The Toyota traveled off of the roadway and overturned multiple times.

The female driver and sole occupant of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County medical examiner.

Assisting at the crash scene were Watertown Fire Department, Watertown Paramedics, Watertown Police Department, Flight for Life, Dodge County Crash Investigation Team, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Dodge County Medical Examiner, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County medical examiner.

On Monday, Aug. 15 the sheriff's office identified the victim as 42-year-old Stacy Sigmund of Jefferson.
