Democratic National Convention to hold 3 'community conversations'

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Following an active shooter at Molson Coors Brewery on Feb. 26, 2020, the DNC has canceled the community conversation scheduled for Wednesday evening at Journey House Gym. 

The Democratic National Convention Team released the following statement: 

"In light of the devastating situation that took place this afternoon at the Molson Coors Milwaukee campus, we are postponing the Community Conversation event scheduled to take place at the Journey House gym this evening. Our team will be in touch in the coming days with a new date and time for this event.

On behalf of the convention team, our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the MillerCoors community. We appreciate your understanding of this short notice."

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Interested in how Milwaukee is getting ready for the 2020 Democratic National Convention? 

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 25 the Milwaukee 2020 Host Committee and the DNC Committee will hold three community conversations to update you on the preparations. 

The 2020 Democratic National Convention Community Conversations will take place:

  • Downtown – Tuesday, February 25 Milwaukee Area Technical College – Cooley Theater (2nd Floor), 1015 N 6th St, Milwaukee, WI 53233 
    • Doors open at 6:00PM; Meeting begins at 6:30PM
  • South – Wednesday, February 26 -- Journey House – Gymnasium, 2110 W Scott St, Milwaukee, WI 53204
    • Doors open at 6:00PM; Meeting begins at 6:30PM
  • North – Thursday, February 27 Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 3456 N 38th St, Milwaukee, WI 53216
    • Doors open at 6:00PM; Meeting begins at 6:30PM
