A food pantry on Milwaukee's north side is filled with fresh produce tonight.
It arrived this morning. A thousand dollars worth of fresh food items is now at the Salvation Army's Food Pantry near 26th and Walnut.
It's part of Dental Group's celebration of "National Smile Month" and it's a welcome sight for people at the pantry.
"For some of the people in the zip codes we serve, fresh produce is a novelty. It costs more money and many of those we serve are on a limited budget, they have a limited income, and so they don't often have fresh produce," said Krachel Greenwood with the Salvation Army.
Delta Dental is also giving a 2,000 grant for future fresh food purchases and to no one's surprise, the group also dropped off a thousand toothbrushes.
