Decreasing clouds today, nice start to the week!

A weak disturbance brought the region light rain showers this morning. The activity will taper off, and expect decreasing clouds the rest of your Monday. Highs will be cooler with winds coming off the lake as daytime temperatures reach the mid-70s.

Surface high pressure moves in for the next 48 hours or so. This will lead to sunshine and pleasant conditions. Highs will reach 80 degrees or so Tuesday and Wednesday. The dry weather pattern to start August will last until at least the middle part of the week. To put into perspective how dry it has been the last two to three weeks; Milwaukee has only received 0.48” of rain the last 17 days. Average during that span is 1.87” of rainfall. Rainfall this morning at the airport did reach 0.14”.

An upper-level trough and low pressure system will bring more rainfall by the end of the week and this weekend. A few rounds of showers and storms will be possible starting Thursday.
