"Dating Game" Fundraiser Held to Raise Money for Scholarships

MILWAUKEE - People in Milwaukee had a chance to find true love right before Valentine's Day.

The Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals hosted their annual "Dating Game."

In its 12th year, the event invites people to have a little fun with cupid through speed dating, raffles, and a date auction.

We asked if the three minutes allotted for speed dating was enough to get to know someone. "Three minutes, I would say is just enough time to get to know who you're dealing with because you have a lifetime to get to know that person," Darla Honeycutt, a participant, said.

All of this was raising money for graduating high school seniors.

"100% of these proceeds go towards our scholarship fundraiser, so I'm honored to have this kind of turnout today to support our young professionals in the city," said Sean Lowe, a member of the Milwaukee Urban League of Young Professionals.

In all - the Young Professionals have given away more than $30,000 in scholarships.
