Dairy Queens around the country host "Miracle Treat Day" to raise money for local Children's hospitals

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Now to the perfect excuse for dessert.

Dairy Queen restaurants around the country hosted a "Miracle Treat Day" to raise money for local Children's Hospitals.

CBS 58 stopped at Dairy Queen in Brookfield and met a family happy to contribute to a good cause and get a little soft serve at the end of a hot day.

"Fantastic. In fact, if I'd known that I would have gotten a cone myself, or I would have gotten an extra blizzard. But hey we got three blizzards coming," said customer Keith Cornehls.

For every blizzard sold, one dollar is donated directly to Children's Miracle Network hospitals

In our area, that's Children's Wisconsin.

Dairy Queen says every year, millions of dollars are raised to help kids.
