MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It was a big year for Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, and we are looking forward to solving even more crimes in 2023.

In 2023, more than 1,000 people called 414-224-TIPS to anonymously submit a tip to Milwaukee Crime Stoppers.

Those tips helped police make 18 new arrests in 2023, recover $44,150 in stolen property and solve 23 cases.

And some of those cases, whether they were made because of our stories or tips called in straight to the hotline were major.

One of those was fugitive Jordan Tate, who was on the run after killing Krystal Tucker at a bar in downtown Milwaukee.

An anonymous caller left a tip through Milwaukee Crime Stoppers that led to his location.

Askia Strong was arrested for shooting his girlfriend around 14 times in front of their children.

The shooting was caught on video, and someone came forward after seeing our story, right here on CBS 58, during our Milwaukee Crime Stoppers segment.

And another Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest for the murder of motorcyclist Aaron Berzowski, who was killed at a gas station on 37th and Villard.

Board members approved more than $33,000 in reward money for anonymous tipsters.

We've had more collaboration and support from the city of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County since we launched in 2019.

That's because Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is working, and that is because of your courage to come forward with anonymous tips.

So please keep helping families affected by violent crime get closure, and hold your friends, family, neighbors and strangers who are negatively impacting our community, accountable.

Call 414-224-TIPS. And remember if your anonymous tip leads to an arrest, you get cash.
