MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A generous contribution from a locally-based chain of sandwich shops will help young people in the area.
The Cousins Subs Make It Better Foundation donated $2,500 to Above and Beyond the Playground. The donation supports the organization's financial literacy program which offers academic and athletic mentoring to middle school, high school, and early college students.
"It's going to be continuing to support the young people here that we believe in, that we're looking to support, that we're looking to challenge each and every day," said Deonte Tatum, Executive Director of Above and Beyond Playground.
The Above and Beyond program is expanding to serve more Milwaukee students this coming school year.
Cousin's Subs has donated more than $375,000 since 1972 to local organizations in need of financial support.
