It has been a very hot July, the third hottest on record, but that changes the last few days of the month and the beginning of August. A lake breeze has returned keeping temps mainly in the 70s for the next five days.
As highlighted in yesterday's blog, we've strung together 44 days in a row with highs at or above 75* which is the second longest streak on record. The record is 46 days which will likely break the next few days.
The last time we had a two back-to-back days in the 70s was July 12 and 13 but to find a streak longer than that you have to go back to June 12-16 when we had a couple days in the 60s.
The latest temp trend going into the second week of August shows overall fairly close to average temps. Southern Wisconsin either has equal chances or a slight (30%) chance at above-average temps.
