Competency exam requested for Milwaukee man accused of killing 12-year-old son

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man, accused in the death of his 12-year-old son, was in court on Thursday, March 14, where his attorney requested a competency examination.

Romuan Moye, 45, was charged with first-degree reckless homicide, chronic neglect of a child, and failure to report the death of a child after his son, Jacarie Robinson, was found dead in their north side home in October of 2023. Investigators say the boy was starved to death.

Moye then went on the run and was arrested in February after an outside source led them to his capture.

According to court documents, the competency exam report for Moye is scheduled to be returned April 5.

If convicted of the charges, Moye could face up to 82 years in prison.
