MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Children, families and seniors gathered for a holiday meal on Easter Sunday, April 20, thanks to efforts from local nonprofit partners in Milwaukee.
The Hunger Task Force Emergency Food Network and its partners, including the St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program, hosted Easter dinners for community members facing food insecurity. Attendees were served ham, turkey, vegetables, fresh fruit and dessert.
Peggy West of the St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program said, "We hope to make everyone feel welcomed and wanted and have a good meal."
Guests also received meals to take home. Children participated in an egg hunt, received Easter baskets and visited with the Easter Bunny.
Organizers said they are seeking volunteers ahead of the summer season. For more information on how to help Hunger Task Force, click here to visit their homepage. To help St. Vincent de Paul, click here to visit them online.
