Common Council approves new bar in West Racine

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An area of Racine that's been without a bar since before Prohibition will soon have one.

The Racine Common Council approved a liquor license transfer for a new bar in West Racine.

The bar's owner says they hope to be open by mid-January.

West Racine had an ordinance that kept the neighborhood dry, even after Prohibition, but that ordinance was overturned last year.
