Classes were Canceled at Alverno College so Students Could Volunteer

Classes were canceled at Alverno College on Wednesday so that students can get outside and be part of the community.

About 25 students spent their day at the urban ecology center clearing out the paths ahead of the summer trail hiking season. and also helping rid the area of an invasive species called garlic mustard.

The cleanup was part the college's 16th annual community day.

Since its inception students at Alverno have logged more than 15,000 hours of community service.
