City of Milwaukee suspends timed, metered and night parking restrictions

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works has suspended all timed, metered and night parking restrictions effective immediately, to accommodate those who are home due to COVID-19.

Vehicles will not be required to alternate side parking or have night parking permits, but vehicles must still abide by all other parking regulations, including "No Parking" signs.

The department says enforcement will focus on safety-related violations including unauthorized parking in handicapped spaces, obstructing traffic lanes, and parking too close to alleys, driveways, fire hydrants and crosswalks.

No parking in a loading zone or carryout zone will also be actively enforced.
