City of Milwaukee raises fines for businesses violating COVID-19 restrictions

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Health Department and the City Attorney's Office has announced an increase in fines for businesses violating COVID restrictions.

Fines now start at $2,500 for an initial violation.

After that, the fines will increase to $5,000 for each violation, and could go as high as $20,000 for multiple violations.

Fines used to be $500 for first-time offenders.
