Cigarettes and Tobacco are Banned at Miller Park

Something to keep in mind this baseball season, cigarettes and every other kind of tobacco is banned from Miller Park.

An ordinance passed by the Common Council last November bans tobacco from every Milwaukee sports venue.

Alderman Mark Murphy wrote the ordinance.

\"The players who are chewing tobacco, are setting a really bad role model for the youth in our country. As we all know, tobacco is a known carcinogen, caused a great number of deaths. we really want to set a great example for children going forward in our country,\" said Murphy, when it was first introduced.

The Brewers said they support the ban.

Major League Baseball and the players union voted last fall to ban all rookies from using chewing tobacco.

Players that are already in the league will be grandfathered in.
