"Christmas in Milwaukee" Celebrating Five Years

Local faith based groups organizing "Christmas in Milwaukee" for the fifth year.

Faith Builders which serves the Clarke Square and Walker's Point neighborhoods primarily  has been gathering donations and hosting a series of wrapping parties to get the gifts to families in time.

They are wrapping every Monday Wednesday and Friday until December 19th.

They also don't want people to be embarrassed about reaching out for a few gifts for the kids.

They are at about 15,000 gifts now.

Richard Schwoegler was a live guest Monday on the CBS 58 News at 4:30  p. m.

Faith Builders works with several other organizations: Zilber Family Foundation, Fire Recovery/Another Hand Foundation, Salvation Army, Journey House, Clark Square Initiative, BASICS, Germantown Walmart Store, Longfellow School, Kagel School, Milwaukee Police, Children’s Hunger Fund, Safe and Sound, Sojourner Peace Center and other Milwaukee Public Schools.

The goal is to have 20,000 thousand Christmas gifts.

Last year they reached our goal and were able to give over 11,000 gifts to not only the targeted areas of Clarke Square and Walker’s Point but they also received 20 or more phone calls a day from people throughout the City of Milwaukee that need help andthey were able to bless them with Christmas gifts for their families too.

They need volunteers to drop off a toy or take part in a wrapping party on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Faith Builders Church located at 4901 South Howell in Milwaukee.
