Child Okay, Woman Dead after Head-On Collision in Kenosha County

On June 15 at approximately 4:37 PM, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle, head on crash, in the 20900 block of County Highway C/Wilmot Road, in the Village of Bristol.

The investigation revealed that a Gray Chevrolet HHR, being operated westbound on Highway C, lost control in a curve in the roadway, exited the roadway   onto the north shoulder then over corrected back onto the roadway. The Chevy HHR drove into the path of an eastbound tan Mercury Villager van.

Robin Jones, 38-years-old of Salem, was driving the Chevy HHR and was fully ejected upon impact. Robin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office. Robin's child, 23-months-old, was also in the HHR and suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

The operator and sole occupant of the Mercury van, a 32-year old man, of Antioch, IL received significant injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital as well, before being transported to Froedtert Hospital for further treatment.

This incident is still under investigation, although alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
