MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Police Chief Flynn says a British broadcaster lied to him about what he was up to while following officers in the Fifth District. The footage in the BBC documentary further strained the Chief's public relations.
City leaders are demanding further talks next week to figure out how it happened and what exactly is the department's ride along policy.
In a letter to alderman Khalif Rainey Chief Flynn said he shared concerns about the documentary. Flynn says the film crew told him they would sensitively portray issues impacting the city and claimed they would speak with local groups trying to curb violent crimes, but those interviews did not make the final cut.
