Chicago Cubs World Series Parade Is Friday

CHICAGO (CBS CHICAGO) — The Chicago Cubs World Series victory rally will be Friday.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel made that announcement at a news conference Thursday.

Details are still forthcoming but the mayor said the parade and rally will happen around noon, but exact timing has not yet been announced.

Trucks carrying hundreds of portable toilets arrived at Hutchinson Field in Grant Park early Thursday morning, as did work crews who began setting up materials for a stage. Metal barricades also have been set up to Columbus Drive, leading into the park.

While city officials have not yet said the rally will be in Grant Park, that was where the Blackhawks had their rallies after their Stanley Cup championships in 2013 and 2015.
