Cheesy Scarves Generates Money for Shelter Program

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Football season is back in Green Bay and so too is the production line inside the New Community Shelter. Shelter staff and volunteers are busy once again making Cheesy Scarves.

Two years ago Cheesy Scarves were created as a way to generate revenue to support the shelter's programming.

First year sales brought in $50,000 and the next year sales hit $150,000. The scarves are sold online, over the phone or in person. The scarves are made by shelter residents and dedicated volunteers, all eager to give back.

The scarves are $10 and are available by visiting the New Community Shelter’s website.
