CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The annual Winter Festival in Cedarburg is back, and it aims to be a lively event full of activities for all ages. The two-day celebration is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 18, and will run until Sunday, Feb. 19.
The festival will have a western theme and will showcase an ice carving contest featuring talented master ice carvers. These artisans will transform massive blocks of ice into works of art.
In addition to the ice carving contest, the festival will also feature Cedarburg's famous costumed “bed-races on ice," barrel races, camel rides, and an all-ages "Hoedown Showdown" on Saturday night, where four bands will compete to win a stage spot at Strawberry Festival later this year. There will also be a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including games, food and more.
To learn more, we were joined by Patrick Curran, Executive Director of Festivals of Cedarburg and Sarah Enwald, Festival Manager of Festivals of Cedarburg on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
The Winter Festival will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will run until 9 p.m. The second day of the event on Sunday will start at 8:30 a.m., ending at 4 p.m.
