MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- With a forecast of beautiful weather ahead in the Milwaukee area, Joe Krauss from B93.3 joined us on Friday, Sept. 1 for a preview of some of the can't-miss events taking place over the weekend.
"Shrekfest" is scheduled to take over Humboldt Park, providing a day of free family fun on Saturday. The event features games, live music, a screening of the movie "Shrek" and various contests. The festivities begin at noon and will wrap up at 9 p.m.
Another free event, Oak Creek LionsFest, offers fun at American Legion Park. It started on Friday, Sept. 1 and runs through Monday, Sept. 4 at 9327 S. Shepard Ave. in Oak Creek.
Oktoberfest at Bavarian Bierhaus is set to celebrate its 60-plus-year tradition. Located at 700 W. Lexington Blvd in Glendale, they will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, continuing until Oct. 8. Usingers sausage, Bavarian pretzels and a variety of meals are on the menu.
The Milwaukee Brewers also offer a special giveaway on Saturday. Fans can snag a Brewers Branded Fleece Vest, with the navy blue fleece being available to the first 30,000 ticketed fans.
