MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – This year marks the sixth annual CBS 58 Thanksgiving Drive Thru Food Drive.

Donations can be dropped off at Miller Park any time before 6:00 p.m. on November 22 and volunteers will be ready to take those donations right through your car window.

CBS 58 is working with Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee’s only free and local food bank which is 100% local-supported and locally-run. Every pound of food donated goes to help Hunger Task Force’s network of 75 food pantries, homeless shelters, and soup kitchens and will be delivered absolutely free of charge.

Hunger Task Force is asking for donations of healthy food items including low-sodium vegetables, healthy breakfast cereals, and peanut butter, as well as holiday staples like turkeys, hams, brown rice, and canned fruit to help those in need.

The first 100 people to donate five frozen turkeys will receive a special edition Bob Eucker Magic-8 Ball! Also, every donor who visits the Drive Thru Food Drive will receive a commemorative Zach Davies bobblehead. Donors will also receive various gifts from corporate sponsors, including coupons, tasty snacks, and commemorative souvenirs.

Hunger Task Force serves 35,000 people each month at local Milwaukee food pantries; local meal programs in Milwaukee serve more than 50,000 meals each month.

This year, our goal is to collect 150,000 pounds of food just in time for Thanksgiving!
