WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) — Would you be able to eat two cream puffs with no hands in about 100 seconds? That was the challenge our Montse Ricossa took on in this week's CBS 58 Hometowns Live, when we headed out to the 175th Wisconsin state fair. She was invited to participate in the "Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Contest" where she went head-to-head with eight others to see who could eat cream puffs the fastest.

Over 300,000 cream puffs are enjoyed each year at the Wisconsin State Fair. But this Thursday, it wasn't about enjoying... it was all about winning.

It was only smiles after the competition! CBS 58
"We are ready. We’ve been prepping since we were selected," shared Anastasia Poull, the 79th Alice in Dairyland. She competed alongside Kaelie Billingsley, the 60th Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs who said they had put thought into what to eat first - "the cream or the puff?"

Competitors put on their game faces and bibs before a little bit of trash-talking. Poull joking to Billingsley, "your outfit’s going to look great when you’re done because you won’t have eaten anything" received by the crowd's "ooh's."

Some participating in the competition said they had Lactaid's handy, others, saying they practiced because they wanted to find a technique.

Montse Ricossa's technique was sorted out with the one and only Joey Chestnut, the #1 world champion eater, who happened to be at a Dockhounds baseball game in Oconomowoc the night before.

He recommended limiting chewing and "make sure you can breathe. Don't choke." Interestingly, he noted he prefers to compete when you can use your hands and drink water.

But about one minute and forty seconds later, it wasn't CBS 58 that came out victorious. It was Shawna Nicols, stage name: DJ Shawna who takes home the trophy. "Oh my goodness I have never been more proud," she said. Her secret to winning was "just imagining a clean plate. I know that sounds so silly, but legitimately I did. I've never did anything like this before, but this was so much fun."

Montse Ricossa:

What are you going to do after this? Still eat cream puffs? Or is this it for the year?

DJ Shawna:

I can’t (laughs) I don't know, but a cream puff does sound amazing right now.

You have through Sunday to enjoy the Wisconsin State Fair.
