CBS 58 Helps Raise Over $52,000 for Hunger Task Force Match Madness

On Thursday, March 9 CBS 58 held a phone bank to benefit Hunger Task Force in their Match Madness campaign. During the campaign each donation will be matched dollar for dollar.

This year the phone bank at CBS 58 raised $52,039.50 which was more than last year's total of around $47,000.

The goal for Match Madness 2017 is $370,000 and to reach that goal Hunger Task Force hopped to be at $248,000 by Thursday night. The actual total raised during the campaign by Thursday night was $247,039 which is $961 short of the goal, but some donations still came in online through the night.

Match Madness runs through Sunday, so people can still give online and have their donations matched

Match Madness MKE is a community-wide fundraising event in support of local hunger relief.

According to Hunger Task Force, two out of three children in Milwaukee have experienced hunger.

Last year overall the Match Madness campaign raised more than $352,000.
