Catholic Charities Embracing the Immigrant and Refugee Communities in Milwaukee Area

For decades Catholic Charities has quietly gone about its mission to to provide service to those in need, to advocate for justice and to call others to do the same.

Mandy Bilbo, the Director of Behavioral Health for the Charity, was live on the CBS 58 News at 4 Friday.

From the beginning, Catholic Charities has served unmet needs.

They want to emphasize that they serve people of all faiths in ten counties in Southeastern Wisconsin.

87% of clients have annual household incomes below $15,000.

44% Hispanic

28% Caucasian

18% African American

10% Other – Asian, Middle Eastern, Native American

Catholic Charities prides itself on having a bilingual staff at all of its offices.

 There are more than 25 different languages spoken by the staff.

Most importantly they provide services for either no fee or based on ability to pay.

Just last year more than 36,000 people benefited from the programs.

Catholic Charities was recently named Charity Navigator’s highest 4-star rating for financial accountability and transparency.  Charity Navigator is America’s largest independent evaluator of nonprofits.
