WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) – A special fundraiser at Carroll University gave students a chance to throw pie at professors – and it was all for a good cause.
The first “Pie your Professor” event aimed to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Pies cost $1 to throw from a distance, and $5 for a direct hit.
Students and staff had an ambitious goal.
"I had a lot of people say no. Unfortunately a lot of professors were like ooh, I have class at that time or I can't make it, but we're just lucky to have a few professors out here to start it off, and maybe this can become an annual thing," said Emily Gillingham, student at Carroll University.
Among the people volunteering to take a pie to the face were Carroll University President Cindy Gnadinger and Provost Mark Belgen.
The fundraiser was put on by Carroll’s “Dance Marathon” student group.
