MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Carlos and Alexa PenaVega joined us on Thursday, July 31 to discuss their ongoing work with The Salvation Army as the back-to-school season begins.
The couple, both actors and parents of three, spoke about the increasing financial pressure families face, with more than half of parents reporting they plan to cut back on necessities like groceries to afford school supplies. Their visit coincides with a Salvation Army initiative to provide supplies to children experiencing hardship, including housing instability and food insecurity.
Topics included the couple’s motivation for supporting The Salvation Army, the challenges families are facing, how parenthood has shaped their perspective on giving, current projects in their entertainment careers and ways the public can support the effort.
