WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- With the powerful winds Wednesday night, tying down Christmas decorations is key, and the epicenter of outdoor decorations -- Candy Cane Lane in West Allis -- is taking precautions.
Inflatables could be a big concern Wednesday as wind speeds pick up, and people on Candy Cane Lane who have been doing this for years, say storms are something they've learned to deal with.
They say it's all about how well you've got those decorations secured.
"Most of the structures that you see have divets that go into the ground, but some of them, if they're a little older, they start coming up -- like that snowman has fallen down three times, so I'm probably going to the hardware store to find some extra stabilizers because otherwise they just get knocked over. Then you have to pick them up in the middle of a wind storm, so we're going shopping," said homeowner Elizabeth LaMarche.
Candy Cane Lane runs between 92nd and 96th Street.
