Cain, Brewers start trip with 5-2 win over Rockies
DENVER - Lorenzo Cain reached base four times, and hit the first pitch of the game to center field for a home run, as the Brewers topped the Colorado Rockies 5-2 at Coors Field.
The win starts a 10-game road trip, the longest of the Brewers season.
Jhoulys Chacin (3-1) gave up two runs over 5.1 innings, striking out five. Four Brewers relievers held the Rockies scoreless once Chacin left the game, and Jeremy Jeffress picked up his third save with a scoreless ninth.
Travis Shaw added three hits, and Hernan Perez had a pair of hits and drove in two runs, as the Brewers improved to an impressive 12-7 away from Miller Park this season.
The four-game series between the teams continues Friday night. Brandon Woodruff has been recalled from AAA Colorado Springs to start Friday night's game for Milwaukee.
