Budget Amendment Day in Milwaukee City Hall

Friday, the Milwaukee Finance and Personnel Committee met to talk about more than 40 proposed amendments to the 2017 city budget.

Many items involve the Milwaukee Police Department, including an amendment that would  bring foot officers to seven Milwaukee neighborhoods under-served neighborhoods. The program would also use the group Running Rebels to help with job training and job placement jobs for the youth in the city.

That amendment did pass.

The common council is expected to adopt the proposed budget next Friday.
