MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Bucks players put smiles on a number of children's faces across Milwaukee Thursday, Dec. 14, with two separate events in the season of giving.

It was an incredible night at the Bayshore Kohl's for 10 Milwaukee Public School students who truly won't forget it.

"I'm excited. I like the Bucks," said Emily Miranda, MPS student.

First stop, posing for pictures to remember the night, then getting to meet Bango.

"I kind of like the Christmas music when I'm walking around and everybody's just like happy," said Miranda.

The students are part of MPS' First Nations Group, a program dedicated to Native American students like Emily Miranda who's excited to hit the store with her gift card and Bucks player Andre Jackson Jr.

"Yeah, it means a lot. I used to come to Kohls a lot with my grandmother back in the day, so it just feels good to be here and be able to give back to the community and be able to meet some of the kids in the area as well," said Jackson.

Jackson's group was ready to spend some cash. Kohl's and Gruber Law provided the gift cards to all.

The $400 shopping spree also gave students the opportunity to give back this Christmas.

"I feel like this is gonna be a good Christmas. I bought gifts for my two brothers Johnny and Ely, and then my sister Aniha. Feels good because I haven't really shopped for my siblings before besides with my mom, so feels cool," said Miranda.

In West Milwaukee Thursday afternoon, Bucks player Khris Middleton joined the Hunger Task Force as part of his "12 Days of Khristmas." Together, they hosted a cultural cooking demonstration.

"It's another fun year where we're doing a lot of different drives, different events for the community here in Milwaukee," said Middleton.

And in that room, it was all about healthy eating. They made elotes with Middleton leading a cooking demonstration.

"I get to test my culinary skills and see if I can still throw down in the kitchen like I used to," said Middleton.

"And everything revolves around not only feeding hungry families in our community, feeding seniors in our community, but also feeding them with really nutritious food," said Jonathan Hansen, Chief Strategy Officer, Hunger Task Force.

Two events, two ways our number one Bucks continue to work their way into hearts over the holidays.
