MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks and the NBA are making a big donation to a Milwaukee nonprofit.
Safe & Sound is a Milwaukee-based group with a mission to build community between neighbors and law enforcement.
Bucks officials presented Safe & Sound with a $25,000 check Monday, April 4. It's part of a celebration of the NBA's 75th anniversary season.
The league is giving $25,000 to every team to make a donation in their community.
Safe & Sound is currently based downtown, but it's using the money for a new office in the heart of Sherman Park.
"We have worked in the Sherman Park area for many years now, but being able to actually physically have headquarters in the center of Sherman Park is really exciting," said Bridget Whitaker, interim executive director of Safe & Sound. "It gives us an opportunity to have a physical touch to residents who haven't been able to come and visit us in the past."
Safe & Sound's new headquarters will be located inside an old church near 44th and Leon Terrace.
