City of Milwaukee, police union reach tentative agreement
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- If you want to look and feel your best, there’s a way to do that with the help of some people who train your favorite Milwaukee athletes. The Milwaukee Bucks have launched a free health and wellness program designed to lower obesity rates in Milwaukee.
Bucks Health and Wellness will offer eligible participants personalized medical care, nutrition plans, and workouts. Obesity affects more than 37% of adults in Milwaukee – higher than the national average, which sits at 33%.
County Executive David Crowley says race and other socioeconomic factors contribute to health disparities.
"This is going to give many low-income residents access to leading and personalized weight loss plans that they otherwise would not be able to afford," said Crowley.
The 12-month program is designed by health professionals as well as the Bucks’s nutrition and performance department. It is the first of its kind in the NBA. To learn more or sign up for the program, click here.
