Bucks drop 2nd preseason game to Mavericks, 128-112

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their second of three preseason games to the Dallas Mavericks 128-112 on Monday night.

Milwaukee also lost to Dallas 112-102 on Friday night, Dec. 11.

Of course, the results are not the most important thing from a preseason game. The goal is for every player to remain healthy as the regular season starts next week.

The reigning back-to-back MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo played 27 minutes and finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds. After going 6/7 from the free throw line on Friday, he finished just 1/7 from the charity stripe in this game.

Every starter played at least 20 minutes with four reaching double figures. Khris Middleton chipped in 13 points while Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez added 11 points.

One troubling factor from the game is the amount of three-pointers the Mavericks hit. Dallas knocked down 22 threes as a team to just 12 for Milwaukee.

Luka Doncic finished with 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in 29 minutes.

Antetokounmpo has until December 21st to sign his five-year $228 million supermax extension. The Bucks will then open the season in Boston against he Boston Celtics on Wednesday, December 23rd, at 6:30pm.

One preseason game remains for the Bucks when they travel to New Orleans on Friday, December 18th to face the Pelicans. Tipoff is set for 7:00pm from the Smoothie King Center.
