A man and woman are safe after an attempted armed robbery. 

Brown Deer Police say on the evening of August 1st a 47-year-old woman was approached by the suspect in the parking lot of the Walmart at 6300 West Brown Deer Road. He showed the victim his handgun and demanded her purse. A 59-year-old man who was with the victim, pushed the suspect away, which prompted the suspect to leave the scene. 

The suspect is a believed to be a thin black male between 5'10\" to 6'00\". He was wearing dark pants and a light blue shirt or jersey.
