Brookfield police seek suspects accused of stealing credit cards, purchasing gift cards

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Brookfield Police Department is looking for more information about a wallet theft and subsequent use of stolen credit cards to purchase thousands of dollars' worth of gift cards and merchandise from CVS and Walgreens.

According to police, the afternoon of June 27, two suspects stole a purse with multiple credit cards from a shopper at Metro Market on Bluemound Rd. before two other suspects were seen at the nearby retail stores purchasing approximately $4,500 of gift cards and other merchandise.

Police describe the first suspect as a heavy-set female wearing an orange New York Yankees hat, a blue long sleeve top, blue leggings, and white sandals. The second suspect was observed wearing a black baseball style hat, black long sleeve shirt, and black framed glasses.

The pair fled the scene in a newer white Jeep Grand Cherokee with no registration plate displayed.
