Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival: Celebrate culture, family and fun in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Celebrate culture, family and fun at the Bronzeville Cultural & Arts Festival Sunday, Aug. 6.

The full-day family event, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will take place on North Avenue between N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and 7th Street, and will help kick off the opening weekend of Bronzeville Week, which will run from August 5 – 12.

“The Bronzeville Cultural and Entertainment District has such a rich and diverse history of music and art that existed between the early 1900s and the 1960s. The current iteration of Bronzeville has seen a renaissance in the arts and commerce, and this festival is one way in which we work to highlight and uplift the many local African-American artists, entrepreneurs, and all those who contribute to the vibrancy of the area. Mark your calendars now for what promises to be an exciting, dynamic day,” said Milwaukee Alderwoman Milele Coggs, whose district is home to Bronzeville and hosts the annual Bronzeville Week.

The Arts & Cultural Festival will include a variety of vendors selling food, clothing, and various other products. There will also be musical performances, live entertainment, a kids zone, and much more.
