Brief warmth arrives Thursday; cool down on the way for Thanksgiving

Our streak of 23 straight days below-average came to an end on Wednesday. The high hit 49* which ends the streak that started October 27.

Thursday is expected to be the warmest since late October with highs reaching the low 50s. We're back to seasonably chilly temps in the upper 30s for Friday which is about 5* below-average. Average temps return as we head into the weekend and the beginning of Thanksgiving week.

Through Wednesday, this November is the third coldest start to the month on record. The coldest was 1951. Overall the temp trend going into Thanksgiving calls for slightly below-average highs so expect temps in the upper 30s to around 40* going into the holiday.

We are watching the potential for a few storm systems around Thanksgiving. Right now the best chance for precipitation looks to be Tuesday, but Wednesday is trending dry. There is some large disagreements among weather models, but a wintry mix chance may need to be added to Thanksgiving night into Black Friday.
