Brewers fan creates 'Fly the Barrel' flag to wave on winning game days
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- You've heard of “Fly the W," but what about “Fly the Barrel?”
Patrick Osowski and his family were leaving the ballpark last year after a game when they heard the song, "Beer Barrel Polka," which is more commonly known as "Roll Out the Barrel."
Osowski says his daughter began dancing to the song and an idea struck him -- what if the Brewers had a flag to raise after every win?
“Baseball is my favorite sport, so I just want them to get into it. I just love the sport, being outside, watching the games,” said Patrick Osowski.
Osowski grew up a Brewers fan, the kind that sticks with you.
“Since little league, growing up. I grew up in South Milwaukee and remember going to games at County Stadium sitting in the bleachers,” said Osowski.
Now he’s passing that love down in more ways than one.
“I just had this idea in my head," said Osowski. "What if we had a flag to put up after the win to celebrate the Brewers win and what if it just had a barrel on it?”
So Osowski designed a flag over a weekend featuring a very large beer barrel.
On Opening Day, he’ll take the flag to American Family Field for the first time.
“My dream is to like, see it out there in the tailgate parking lot flying above cars,” said Osowski.
