Brewers bounce back with 8-3 win

PITTSBURGH - Matt Garza threw six solid innings and Lyle Overbay drove in two key runs with a base hit after an intentional walk, leading the Brewers to an 8-3 win over the Pirates Saturday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

In the fourth inning, Pirates manager Clint Hurdle decided to have Edinson Volquez walk Scooter Gennett intentionally with two runners on base. That brought up Overbay, who made Hurdle and the Pirates pay with a liner that fell for a hit, scoring two.

Garza threw six innings and gave up three earned runs. The Brewers tacked on several insurance runs in the final few innings.

Yovani Gallardo gets the call against Jeff Locke (0-0, 10.13 ERA) in the series finale in Pittsburgh Sunday.
