Brewers avoid sweep behind Gomez's two homers

MILWAUKEE--The Brewers defeated the Atlanta Braves 6-5 Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park.

They were led by Carlos Gomez, who hit two home runs, including a go-ahead three run shot in the eighth inning. He also his a solo home run in the sixth.


In his second game back from injury, outfielder Khris Davis hit a two-run home run in the win.

Pitcher Mike Fiers gave up four runs and struck out four batters, earned a no-decision while Jeremy Jeffress picked up the win. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 19th save of the season.

After avoiding a sweep, the Brewers are off Thursday and will travel to play the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday.
