Brewers acquire pitcher Freeman from Rangers

The Brewers have acquired left handed pitcher Sam Freeman from the Texas Rangers for cash considerations.

Freeman was designated for assignment by the Rangers at the end of spring training. He owns a career 3.23 ERA as a big league pitcher.

The Brewers have been beset by injuries, especially to their pitching staff. Six pitchers, including Will Smith, Matt Garza and Corey Knebel, are on the disabled list.
