Braithwaite Convicted of Murder

A jury has convicted 23-year-old Joshua Braithwaite for last summer's murder of Lashe Zalar. The 20-year-old woman's body was found in Nedweski Park in Kenosha.

Investigators later determined she had been raped, her throat slashed, and then set on fire while still alive.

There were witnesses who put the defendant at the park before a brush fire broke out.

Braithwaite tried to argue the two had texted each other, but a check of his phone never supported that claim.

It took the jurors roughly four hours to render a verdict.
